Bažnyčia statyta 1620–1630 m., ji yra ankstyvojo baroko, vadinamojo karmelitų baroko, stiliaus. The Church was built between 1620 and 1630, it is of late Baroque style, so-called the Carmelite Baroque

Tai yra ne tik reikšmingas renesanso ir ankstyvojo baroko epochos Lietuvoje paminklas, bet ir tikras anuomet išsaugoto katalikų tikėjimo dokumentas. The Church of St Michael was built by the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Leonas Sapiega between 1594 and 1597

Šv. Jokūbo ir Pilypo bažnyčia | Church of St Philip and St James
Į bažnyčią sugrąžintas ir nuo XVIII a. stebuklingu laikomas Gailestingumo Dievo Motinos paveikslas. The picture of the Mother of God, Mother of Mercy (Lukiškių Mother of God), which since the 18th century has been regarded to have miracle-working powers, was also returned to the Church.
