Der Major ist eigentlich dafür bekannt, dass er indische Aufstände in den besetzten Kolonien bekämpfte. Rückblickend eine fragwürdige Ehrung. Die Statue selbst ist auch nicht so interessant.

This plinth holds a statue of General Sir Henry Havelock, a general who led British troops during the Indian Mutiny in 1857. He won a string of victories before succumbing to dysentery at Lucknow.
