The real ale was excellent, but the quality of the food has declined a bit since my last visit in February 2015 and significantly since our first visit in October 2009.

Not as good as it used to be. Still, a welcome sight for weary travellers if you can't get in at the Red Lion a couple of minutes walk further up the road.
