You can't go wrong staying here if you plan to go to Daisetsuzan. It's walking distance to the cable car station. Meals are prepared by the hosts and change daily. Best part is the free onsen pass

Superb home style dinner. Check out the spiral staircase to view the stars at night and sunrise in the morning.
